Choti Diwali 2026, also known as Naraka Chaturdashi or Roop Chaudas, falls on November 7th (Saturday). It commemorates Lord Krishna's victory over the demon Narakasura. The defining ritual is an oil bath (abhyanga snan) taken before sunrise — believed to wash away sins and bestow beauty and good health.
Apply sesame oil to the body before bathing before sunrise. Most important ritual of the day.
Light 14 diyas. Worship Lord Krishna and Goddess Kali. Burst crackers.
Complete rangoli, decorations, and shopping before the main Diwali night.
